Hailed by Diane Windler as "a conductor with authority on the podium," (San Antonio Light, Dec. 1988) Ronnie Sanders made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut in a critically acclaimed performance with the New England Philharmonic Orchestra in 2005.

A two-time Grammy award winner for excellence in music education, Sanders studied at the Juilliard School in New York city and was privileged to have been personally coached by Maestro Milton Katims, conductor of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra from 1954 - 1976. Katims performed with and was a conducting protégé of Italian conductor Arturo Toscanini.

Not only is Sanders an established choral conductor, he has conducted opera, ballet, concerti, orchestral works and numerous musicals. "The term 'Renaissance man' might be overused, but it surely applies in the case of Ronnie Sanders" Nicholas Frank, (San Antonio Report, Dec. 1, 2024).

Sanders served as a state commissioner for the Texas Commission on the Arts from 2011-2028. He authored the biographical entry on British composer Tarik O'Regan, published in the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians and currently serves as the artistic director of the South Texas Symphonic Orchestra.

He is in demand as a clinician, guest lecturer, composer and conductor. Sanders earned a master's degree in conducting from the University of Houston, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University. He and his lovely wife Nancy have 5 children.
